Bankside House, Leadenhall St, London
BSPS were successfully appointed as the Main Contractor to carry out extensive internal and external refurbishment works to Bankside House in Leadenhall Street, London. This beautiful Art Deco building was fully occupied during the works and is surrounded by office and retail premises on all sides. This, along with noise constraints, meant that all internal refurbishment work had to be completed after office hours, between 10pm and 7am, and at weekends. The external restoration comprised of roof overlay works, stone restoration, window overhaul and decoration, and stone cleaning. Upon completion of the external restoration, refurbishment and decoration work, works began on the reception area and lift lobbies. The reception area was fully refurbished with a new ceiling, wall and marble floor finishes, lighting, and a completely bespoke reception desk with integrated services. The theme of the reception area was echoed in the lift lobbies of all of the other floors of this seven storey building. The basement required significant demolition and structural works to remove bank vaults, structured units, and altered and adapted services to create an open area.
