High Holborn is a well recognised and prestigious street in London and so BSPS were called in for the restoration of two adjoining office buildings above Holborn Tube Station.

Kingsbourne House and 88 Kingsway are connected, with 88 Kingsway being an impressive Grade II listed Victorian building retaining many original features. BSPS assembled our in-house team of experts to undertake specialised cleaning of the external façade and ornate stone faces at 88 Kingsway, we undertook extensive stone repairs to 88 Kingsway, replaced the leadwork to the high level dormers replaced all the timber casement windows, stripped and re-slated the internal mansard roof, recovered the dormers in new lead covering, repaired and eased all the sash windows undertook masonry repairs and brick pointing. The team also refurbished and repaired existing metal stairs and walkways, and the main roof to 88 Kingsway was overlaid with a new felt roof.

Working above one of the busiest tube stations in London, the team carefully designed, planned and installed substantial scaffolding. We worked closely with Transport for London to ensure the scaffold was erected safely and caused minimal inconvenience to passengers and the general public.

Both buildings are now restored to their former glory and stand out in this busy area of London thanks to the team at BSPS.
