Bankside House, Leadenhall St, London
Service: Refurbishment
Sector: Commercial
A beautiful art deco building in the centre of London’s financial district called on BSPS for an overhaul. The aim was to update 107 Leadenhall Street, which provides accommodation for offices and retailers, inside and out, to suit the needs of any busy business and to maintain the original features.
The exterior received roof work, stone restoration and cleaning, and a window overhaul, while the basement needed some demolition to remove old bank vaults to create an open area, ready for the new tenant to fit out a crazy golf venue.
Inside, the reception area got a new ceiling, wall and marble floor finishes, along with a stunning bespoke desk that could have come straight from the 1920s. The beautiful marble floor continues in the lift lobbies of all floors in the seven-storey building.
You can almost hear the jazz music – Jay Gatsby himself would fit right in.
