International Students House, York Terrace

Service: Decoration & Restoration

Sector: Education

Residents of the International Students House have a fancier postcode than most London scholars, and BSPS was recruited to restore the stunning building in Regent’s Park.

International Students House – known as ISH – is a charity offering housing in London to students from all over the world, and the accommodation in York Terrace, Regent’s Park is a Grade I listed building and part of The Crown Estate.

The work came under the quinquennial redecorations, as required by The Crown Estate, and extra care had to be taken with the external refurbishments of the stucco, mouldings and sign-writing, as well as on the 300 traditional sash windows.

The work all had to be done while the building was occupied so BSPS kept in communication with staff and students. The stunning building was soon restored to its former glory, fitting in perfectly with the rest of the beautiful architecture in Regent’s Park.
